Waikato


The Waikato region is one of New Zealands prime dairy industry areas. It is a large region stretching from the west coast meeting up with The Coromandel and running south from the Franklin area to the Ruapehu region.

Hamilton is the areas major city and takes in many smaller towns such as Te Awamutu, Otorohanga, Morrinsville, Matamata and many others.

Hamilton sits on the banks of the Waikato river - New Zealand's longest river.

Farming is a major industry in the area and once a year the National Field days are held at Mystery creek drawing crowds world wide show casing the best that farming has to offer.

Other attractions in the area include the beaches in the Raglan area and the world famous glow worm caves at Waitomo. There is some thing for every one in this peaceful and diverse rural area.
