Chatham Islands

About 800kms east of New Zealand lies the Chatham Islands. About as remote as you can get the Chathams were the first to be inhabitated by the Moriori people.

Arrival is via plane on a daily basis and once there the remoteness is evident with wind swept beaches and small pockets of population.

The seafood is plentiful and there is a number of activities on the Island. From fishing to bird watching and hiking the outdoors on this small island provides a relaxing and private holiday.

The locals are friendly and welcoming and accommodation is via backpackers lodge to self catering units.

If you want to experience a holiday that is relaxed and totally away from it all then consider the Chatham Islands.
