Auckland, known to many as the "City of Sails" is New Zealand's most populated city. Sitting on the shores of the sparkling Waitemata harbour the north of the city is joined by the Auckland harbour bridge built in the early 1950's.
The Auckland region is vast stretching out to Muriwai Beach in the west to the Hunua ranges in the east and south to the Franklin region, it is home to a diverse population of cultures and nationalities.
Also included in the region are many outer harbour islands such as Waiheke and Great Barrier.
