The Wellington Region is at the bottom of the North Island.
Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand and proudly houses "The Beehive" where Parliament sits. It is a diverse city where the arts and crafts feature to a large scale.
Within the region are also the smaller towns of Lower Hutt, Otaki, Levin and more.
It is the gateway to the South Island where ferries make the 92 km journey several times a day from Wellington harbour.
Its rugged coastline, small New Zealand towns and stunning capital city make it a great place to visit before the Island cross over.
